What We Believe
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them. We accept the New Testament as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
The Trinity
Our God is one yet exists in three distinct persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father is the author of creation and of the Word. The Son, Jesus Christ, is the Word who became human to die for man’s redemption, rose from the dead, and is coming back again. The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son and is eternal.
(Genesis 1:1, Philippians 2:6, John 1:1, John 1:14, John 1:18, Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, John 14:28, John 16:28, John 15:26)
Salvation is God’s gift to man. Redemption from sin is only made possible by trusting in Jesus as God’s gift of forgiveness. Man is saved from the penalty of sin and is given a new life acceptable to God by confession of faith in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
(Ephesians 2:8, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 10:9, 1 John 3:8, 1 John 5:12, 2 Corinthians 7:10, 2 Corinthians 3:18, John 3:3-5, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18, Philippians 3:12-14, 1 Corinthians 1:30)
Three Baptisms
We believe in the three baptisms: baptism in Christ, baptism in water, and baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Baptism in Christ is through the Name of Jesus Christ, bringing salvation to anyone who asks.
Baptism in water symbolizes the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift of empowerment by prayer for the believer’s everyday life.
(Acts 16:29-31, Romans 10:9, Romans 6:4, John 3:3-5, John 14:16-17, Matthew 3:11, Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:1-7, Mark 16:17, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 8:36-39, Colossians 2:12)
Healing
Healing is for any sickness of the human body and is produced by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of the entire Body of Christ today.
(Mark 16:18, James 5:14-16, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4)
Eternity
Man was created in the image of God and to live forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin, or have eternal life with God through salvation. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
(Genesis 1:27, 1 John 5:12, John 3:3-5, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 20:12-15)
